A day full of South Dakota Animals!

Wednesday, 28 July, 2010

I totally can’t believe I caught this mama bird feeding her babies!  Total LUCK!  How cool!

Custer State Park was full of animals today!  It was a beautiful day with beautiful weather!

World wind tour of South Dakota!

Yes, E was really flying a helicopter ;)

Here we are outside of the Famous Wall Drug!  I don’t think there were ANY drugs to be had in there, but there was a whole lot of things to buy!  We missed the cool play area for kids, so we may have to hit it on the way home.  We’ll see!

Anyway, Byron just looked at my blog post and informed me that this was not the Famous Wall Drug, but that it was Corn Palace, which makes a whole lot of sense looking at the building made from corn and the fact that all boys are holding their own bags of popcorn.  I really didn’t look around at this place like I should have.  I guess they redo it every couple of years which is pretty impressive.  I wish I spent more time looking at the pictures made from corn.  Oh, well it was still kind of cool.

I was a bit of a nervous wreck up here!  But we still had a good time.

This was pretty funny!  Mom and the little boys decided to climb up the side of this steep hill and kinda got stuck.  She’s holding on to them so they don’t fall while I’m cracking up and taking a picture before heading up to help!  We all were laughing about this one.

Just a pretty view of the Badlands!

And another one!

These prairie dogs let you get SO close!  Noah would call them (kind of bark like one of them), and they would stand on their back legs.  It was pretty cool, because nothing else would do it so when I wanted a picture like the one below I would just ask him to call them.  Up they went!  The one below was a cute little baby.  They were EVERYWHERE!

Truly amazing and beautiful!  I had never been to Mount Rushmore until this trip and I gotta say it was worth it!  The boys (including Byron) and I took a  walk and it was great!

If I didn’t look fat in this shirt, I would think of using this pic for our Christmas card!

Crazy Horse was incredible!  It was kind of expensive and we were a little unimpressed until we watched the movie.  Things to know about Crazy Horse: Mt. Rushmore is smaller than Crazy Horses head alone, it was started by one man who worked alone for many years (I think it was well over a decade) then he had 10 kids who helped, and it has been totally built with private donations.  There’s a lot more to know about it and once we left we were all in awe of it.

Little bits went on with Daddy & I through Custer  State Park and well, he had to go.  Byron and I were taking pics and I looked over and there he was!  OH, on a side note he has TOTALLY potty trained himself on this trip.  Full time undies for him.  It’s great!

Yes, we drove through this tunnel and a couple others like it.  Tight fit!

Just a really pretty flower!

Devils Tower from a distance.  Amazing!  Byron and Pop let me walk around the whole thing 1.3 miles, while they took care of the boys.  It was beautiful!

There is a park in Rapid City called Story Book Island and it is SO cool!  The boys run around it like crazy!  There is so much to see and do!  Check it out if you are in Rapid City, it’s worth it!

The trip so far in a nut shell!  South Dakota is a blast!

Meet beautiful baby Ella!

Monday, 26 July, 2010

It was a hot hot day, but baby Ella seemed to LOVE it.  She slept through all the moving around beautifully.  When she would wake up, she was easily put back to sleep.  Nice job baby Ella!  Big thanks to my friend Terri Stoff who came with me to set up all the poses!  I alone would never have tried hanging the baby, but it was fun.

Havin’ fun in KC with my Bliss Photography friends!

So, I’m in Overland Park, KS working on my photography with the wonderful photog, Carol and her fab asst, Jo Jo from Bliss Photography.  I’ll post some of the Vogue pics they did of me later!  We have been having SO much fun and I can’t wait to get home and start doing some of these sessions.  They are very different and a lot of fun to do.

Sorry for the late post, but I’ve just been busy and very tired!  This will be worth the wait.  I will probably post a few more later, but here’s a peek now!

Some serious air!

Look at my cute little cousin trying to be tough!  Grif, your face is too sweet to look tough :)  Love you!

Love these last two because you can see some dirt on their faces!

I know I’m way behind in my blogging.  I’ll be posting some of the beautiful senior I photographed last week later today (I hope)!

Fun engagement session in the heat!

This was for Adam!  I think it turned out nice.  You both were so fun.  I am looking forward to September.  Surely it will not be as hot!!!  I think we all began to melt!

It’s SO hard to pose ;)

LOVE IT!

SO, I’d like to add a few more but I’m about to pass out and I have a wedding tomorrow!

I’ll try and put a few more up this weekend!

A few more maternity photos!

Thursday, 17 June, 2010

I just LOVE this picture!

What a fun session!  Can’t wait to meet that beautiful little girl!

Here’s the beautiful maternity session I was talking about!

Wednesday, 16 June, 2010

Is she beautiful or what?!  We started the day at Missouri Botanical Gardens.  We got some beautiful images and it was not too hot.  Then we went to Forest Park.  I LOVE the waterfall there.  It started to get warm, but we were in the shade, so not too bad.

We went back to their house and did some more.  Yes, it was the longest maternity session I’ve ever had, but it was so much fun & we were doing such different things that it made the time go fast.  Tomorrow I’ll post a few of the indoor photos!
