I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful 95 year old and her family. I really hope that when I’m 95 (if I make it to 95) that I will look as good as she did and have a wonderful large family ready to throw me a party. This is just one part of her family. We did more I just have not been able to get through them.

This is the whole family! They came in from many places to be at this party. We were in a nice place, but it was dark and we didn’t have much room. Look at how fantastic this family did! I was very pleased to see this. You can see everyone! A good memory of that night.

Little behind in editing, but finally finished this session from the 12th. I’ll try and get a sneak peek up from this past weekend and a beautiful 4 month old that I get to meet this weekend.
It’s been a tough week with Mema & Papa. They are just not feeling well (mostly Papa). He’s still VERY sick. It’s taking a toll on all of us. I don’t get to leave the house much (just to drive the boys to and from school, OH, and to run by Mc Donalds for my coke fix). Kind of a big change for me and the boys.
I am SICK of the cold!!!! Come on spring!

It’s taking me a while to get through this session. Not because of the family…they are beautiful! We’ve had a rough week with Papa. He’s in the hospital with pneumonia. For a 95 year old man it’s VERY serious. I love him a lot and have been spending as much time at the hospital as possible. Anyway, I can’t wait to see the rest from this session! Congratulations on 40 years!

Could he be any cuter?! We were heading out to shovel and he still had his PJ’s on. He came running out of the house in his PJ’s, Buzz & Woody cowboy boots and his hat. It was SO cute. He wanted to help. I am so thankful that I have 3 boys. They will clear the drive in a hurry as they get older.

The boys worked SO hard on the driveway. E was very serious about his work. It was really very cute.

After the drive was cleared a snowball fight broke out with Daddy.

Here’s Caleb looking very cute.
Well, I am about to fall fast asleep. I’ve been fighting a migrane since last night. I’ll post something soon of my Friday session.

I just LOVE having Mema and Papa here with us. Today Caleb had me put new batteries in his little Fisher Price camera. He really enjoys taking pictures and I think he’s got a good eye. He was in the light and said, “Oh, that’s too bright.” Then he stepped back and got out of the light. He took the camera in to Mema & Papa’s room and took their pictures. This next part is my favorite….he taught Papa how to use his camera and Papa took some pictures of Caleb. How cute is that?!
Caleb took a picture of Me, Noah & Elijah. So, cute!

Then he caught Mema in bed. She was happy to see him and have her picture taken.

Papa’s try taking a picture of Caleb. Caleb stood there with that cute smile while Papa took the picture. He’s so cute! I wish this was not on the toy camera and the quality was a little better.

Then Caleb took another of Papa!

And then Papa wanted one more try at it. He thought that was just great. It was fun watching Caleb teach him how to use the camera.

Here’s Papa waiting to do his eye exam for his license. Yes, I took him. He knew we were going to be moving him to St. Louis and his license expired on his birthday (January 17th). Byron thought I was crazy when I told him I was going to take Papa to get his license. I knew he needed to have that since he was losing everything else. I did call and make sure he had a chance. I also talked to Papa to make sure he would not be too sad if he was not able to get it. Anyway, Friday morning we set out to get this done since we were leaving for St. Louis Sunday morning. This was the last chance to get it. He passed the eye exam with flying colors and then the lady asked me if I thought he would be up for the driving test. Now, even though Papa is 95 he actually is a really safe driver, so I said yes. He was so cute not wanting to use his oxygen during the test. He thought they might not give him his license if he wore it. Anyway, off they went.

Here comes Papa back from the test.

Check out the smile on his face. He PASSED!!! I was so proud of him. Really, less than 3 weeks before I went to stay with him hospice didn’t think he would make it to the weekend and here we were getting his license.

Here he is getting his picture for his license! How cute is he?!

I love the smile on his face here. His actual license will come in the mail, but here’s his certificate. No, we will not be letting him drive, but here he is with his license. Really, this is the sweetest man EVER! I really love him.
OK so after we did this I asked if we could go through McDonald’s to get me a coke before heading back to his house. He, of course, let me. I asked if he wanted anything and he asked for a burger. I have no clue when his last burger had been, but he has not been able to eat solid food like a burger for a while. He enjoyed that burger and I enjoyed watching him eat it. Boy, we had a great day!

So, I am home from my trip to NC and brought Mema and Papa home with me. It’s such a blessing to have them here. The boys, especially E, just LOVES having Papa around. It’s SO cute watching E follow him around saying, “Papa, Papa” I try and move him out of the room and he says, “NO, I want to see Papa.” And Papa is just eating it up. He beams with joy when E brings him things to show him or when he just says his name. It’s very cute.
If you ever get a chance to take in your grandparents, do it! You will be blessed. Needless to say I probably will not be blogging as much for a while until I get a routine going.

I LOVE old wedding photos! I found the lost wedding album. I don’t think the boys ever remember seeing this. That was a fun find!

What’s that look Byron?! Cracks me up!

The B-man with crazy curls!

Byron and Jonathan. Oh the look on Byron’s face….if that is not the look of that age (5-8yrs old) boy, I don’t know what is. I guess I shouldn’t be so hard on Noah when he makes those crazy faces. It’s a gene.

Byron’s parents. So sweet!

This is Byron with Mema and Papa. How sweet!

This picture of Byron reminds me too much of E. TROUBLE!

I couldn’t LOVE this one of Byron’s mom more! I TOTALLY LOVE IT! I love the original even more even though the color is off. I know it’s off here too, but not as much as the original. She just looks so happy and fun. I miss her and Richard (Byron’s dad) even though I never had a chance to meet them. They are always in my heart!
OK , so I’m in North Carolina hanging with Byron’s grandparents. While I’ve been here I’ve been able to clean some stuff out and find some treasures…….PICTURES! Byron’s parents passed away before I met him so I never had a chance to meet them. They raised two wonderful men (one being Byron), so I know they were great parents. I wanted to share some pictures of them since I have not seen too many myself. It’s nice to get a look into Byron’s past like this. Hope you enjoy and always remember how important your own picture will be to your family when you are gone. Make sure you get in a few yourself.
On another note, it looks as if we are bringing Mema and Papa home with us for a while. I am SO excited and feel very blessed that my boys might have the chance to get to know their Great Grandparents well. I will probably have to not take as many jobs for a while, but that’s OK. Time on this earth is short and we need to love them well while we have them. No, I don’t think this will be an easy job, but I think we will be blessed immeasurably.
